FUND RAISING REPORT 2003
As in recent years we do not have a fund raising committee
but the Leaders have run the events with the help of parents and we still have
managed to raise £777.27.
Many thanks go to Vanessa Neaves and Nikki Hollands for
running the Village Day cake stall yet again and with the Lucky Dip we made
£103.06.
The Carol Singing in the High Street took even more this
time and the takings were £110.00. Thanks go again to the Ollerenshaws and
Chris Geraghty and the families who braved the cold to give the Village
Christmas cheer.
Many thanks go yet again to the post girls Jane Best and
Judith Harlow who organised with the help of Fiona Haynes the post this year.
The profit for the Group was £198.22. I am not sure where the 2p came from as
it costs 10p per card! All the cards got to their destination on time even the
ones marked for other areas and the one with no surname or address. I think
Jane was a detective in a former life! Thanks also go to all the posties as
well
The main fund raising event in this financial year was the
Sponsored Walk, which made £242.99 for the Group and £242.00 for the Scouts in
Uganda to help with their work with street children. Grateful thanks go to all
the Leaders and parents who helped to run the event and to all the walkers.
Thanks go to all the parents who donated cartridges to the
Group this gives us an income of about £100 a year. Thanks to Fiona Haynes who
was in charge this year.
The other major source of income is from the Gift Aid scheme
in which nearly every family takes part. Thanks go to Dennis without whom we
could not collect the monies.
The next event will be our Quiz which is next Friday 26th
September at the Memorial Hall- I hope you all have your tickets.
If any parent would be able to help with the fund raising to
take the weight off the already over worked Leaders please let any Leaders or
myself know. We would love to hear from you.
